Models (e.g., physical, mathematical, and computer models) can be used to simulate systems and interactions — including energy, matter and information flows — within and between systems at different scales.

TERMS

  • Simulations - imitation of a situation or process

  • Interactions - reciprocal (two-way) action or influence

    • Energy - the ability to cause change

    • Matter - physical substances

    • Information - facts provided or learned about something

  • Scale - the relative size or extent of something
